Who we are: At Ice Bear Therapeutics, we’re pioneering a new era in biologic drug manufacturing by using mammalian cell lines in a fully continuous process to produce insulin. This breakthrough approach combines the biological precision of mammalian expression with the efficiency of continuous manufacturing—delivering higher quality, consistency, and scalability while significantly reducing cost and waste. Our mission is simple: make essential biologics (human proteins) like insulin more accessible, affordable and sustainable for patients with type 1 diabetes around the world. 

How we are different: Unlike traditional batch fermentation methods that rely on microbial expression systems such as E. coli, Ice Bear’s mammalian platform enables the direct secretion of fully folded insulin analogs into the culture media, dramatically reducing the need for complex folding and purification steps.
Our impact on the world: To bring much needed innovation to the manufacturing industry to ensure the long term supply of insulin for communities of patients with type 1 diabetes around the world. Our platform will enable populations to have local access to manufacturing capabilities even in the most remote resource constrained markets in the world. Our highly efficient and continuous manufacturing process can produce insulin 90 x faster than current manufacturing processes ensuring that critical life saving supply chains can be maintained indefinitely and at scale.
