Sebastian Ruf

Sebastian Ruf is a Senior Climate Risk Data Scientist at ICE, specializing in modeling extreme weather events and their implications for bond markets since February 2023. Previously, Sebastian served as an Experiential AI Postdoctoral Researcher at Northeastern University, focusing on machine learning and network science related to climate change, and earlier as a Postdoctoral Researcher utilizing data science tools to investigate brain function and mental health. Sebastian earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, where research centered on social network behaviors, and holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior experience includes engineering roles at Enercon Services, Inc. and Solar Turbines Inc., along with significant undergraduate research endeavors in power systems and mechanical properties of human anatomy.
