Joseph Smith

Joseph Smith has a diverse range of work experience in various industries. Joseph currently works as a Chemical and Materials Engineer at Iceotope Technologies Limited, where they provide material selection, testing, and characterization for precision liquid immersion cooling technology for data centers. Joseph also collaborates with external suppliers on the formulation and characteristics of coolants for the cooling infrastructure.

Prior to this, Joseph worked at RB as an Electrochemist and Aerosol Scientist, focusing on the development of new product formulations for personal care, cosmetic, and home care products. Joseph conducted technical assessments of alternative surfactants, emulsions, and inhibitors, and screened and assessed chemical-packaging compatibility through stability analysis and corrosion assessment.

Joseph also had experience at Unilever, where they held multiple roles. As part of the Technology and Engineering team, they supported process safety projects and was involved in civil and design engineering. Joseph also developed various calculators, including a pipeline leakage calculator and a filling ventilation calculator. In their previous role at Unilever, Joseph worked on packaging and innovation, leading to the implementation of new equipment and the use of statistical process control to evaluate machine performance.

Earlier in their career, Joseph worked as a Cash Office Operative at Primark Stores Limited, where they had the responsibility of auditing all tills and refunds. Joseph verified cash flows and ensured the proper accounting for store takings and security collection. Joseph also had a brief role as a Store Assistant, focusing on customer service and stock management.
