Emily Blanton, AICP, is a Senior Urban Planner with a passion for uplifting communities facing disinvestment and fostering sustainable connections between nature and people. In 2020, Emily worked as a Design Fellow at PennPraxis, where they supported the implementation of an emergency rental assistance program in Philadelphia during COVID-19 and collaborated with multiple cities on housing policy responses. Earlier roles include research and conservation positions at organizations such as the Southern Environmental Law Center and the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, where they contributed to environmental research and community engagement. Emily holds a Master’s degree in City/Urban, Community and Regional Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Virginia.
