Jim Duncan

Jim Duncan is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in developing machine learning pipelines and data analysis frameworks. Currently serving as Lead Data Scientist at ICF since September 2019, Jim has successfully implemented an NLP proof of concept and established an event-driven ML pipeline using AWS services. Prior roles include Senior Data Scientist, where efficiencies were significantly improved in quarterly Risk Model updates, and Data Scientist, where innovative anomaly detection methods were deployed. Previous positions include roles at TISTA Science and Technology Corporation and as a data science consultant. Jim's early career involved trading natural gas options and providing critical risk analysis at Energy Future Holdings and Luminant. Jim holds multiple degrees, including a Master’s in Operations Research and Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics and Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology.
