Mónica Marro

Staff Researcher

Mónica Marro is a physicist with a PhD in photonics and biophotonics, currently serving as a staff researcher at ICFO in the Super-resolution Light Nanoscopy and Microscopy Lab. With over 15 years of experience in Raman spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, and vibrational spectroscopies, Mónica has led more than 20 projects in collaboration with hospitals and research centers focusing on various biomedical applications. Mónica has successfully secured funding for projects from prestigious institutions and has mentored several students at the Master's and PhD level. Their contributions to the field are recognized through participation in international committees and organizing conferences. Mónica has also received the BIST Mothers of Science Supporting Grant in 2022, aimed at promoting women scientists in leadership roles.
