Tim Heightman is an accomplished PhD Scholar at ICFO, focusing on Quantum Computing and Machine Learning. Currently, Tim also serves as a PhD Research Intern at Algorithmiq. Previously, Tim co-founded the Imperial XR Group, which develops innovative ed-tech solutions aimed at enhancing the learning experience in STEM disciplines. Tim has held roles as a Research Intern at PASQAL, where research centered on deep reinforcement learning, and as Lead Developer for the Digital Learning Hub at Imperial College London, contributing to an augmented reality environment for physics education. Additional experience includes public relations for the University of London Symphony Orchestra and programming interactive educational simulations at Imperial College London. Tim holds a Master of Science in Quantum Dynamics and a Bachelor’s degree in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College London, along with a diploma in violin from ABRSM.
