Sumit Kumar

Sumit Kumar is currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at ICGEB since January 2024. Previously, Sumit held the position of Research Assistant at the Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, where the focus was on developing a deep learning model for predicting binding affinity in protein-ligand complexes using graph theory. Prior to that, Sumit was a Project Intern, creating a deep learning tool to predict molecular permeability through the blood-brain barrier, and worked as a Project Assistant at UIET Panjab University, conducting phylogenetic analysis of bacterial strains. Sumit holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from Jamia Millia Islamia and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology from Panjab University.
