David Micallef has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. David currently works at iCIMS as a Senior Software Engineer since February 2021. David previously held positions including Software Engineer III, Software Engineer II, and Test Engineer II at iCIMS from 2018 to 2021.
Before iCIMS, David worked at Hub City Media, Inc. as a Senior Systems Engineer from November 2013 to January 2018. In this role, they developed custom software security solutions for client enterprise Identity & Access Management systems. David specialized in Oracle IAM platform and performed various tasks such as Java and Python development, integration with external resources, and business rule workflow architecture. Additionally, they developed full-stack software products using JavaScript, AngularJS, and JSON for integration with partner IAM platforms. David also served as a Technical Lead, managing a team of developers and communicating with clients throughout the project life cycle.
Prior to Hub City Media, David worked at Rutgers University with various roles. David was a Bioinformatics Software Developer from February 2010 to October 2013, a Web Developer/Project Manager from October 2009 to January 2010, and a Graduate Research Assistant from September 2002 to September 2009. During their time at Rutgers, they gained experience in software development, project management, and research in the field of bioinformatics.
David also has experience as a Watson Summer Intern at IBM in 2003 and as a Protein Data Bank Intern at Rutgers University from September 2001 to June 2002.
David Micallef began their education at Columbia High School, from 1993 to 1997. David then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science at Brown University from 1997 to 2001. Following this, David attended Rutgers University, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Computational Biology from 2008 to 2010. In addition to their formal education, David Micallef has acquired certifications such as Certified SAFe® 4 Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc. in July 2019, and Learning the OWASP Top 10 from Lynda.com in October 2018.
