Application Monitoring Engineer II at iCIMS

Finlay MacFarlane has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the technology industry.

Finlay started their career as a voluntary employee at City IT Recycling in 2007. Later, in 2013, they joined Jumpstart UK as a Database Administrator, where they focused on managing marketing automation and implementing new technologies for database maintenance.

In the same year, they also joined McRae & Co as a Data Analyst & Technical Manager. In this role, they handled tasks such as email deliverability, database building, and delivering analytical reports for sales and marketing. Finlay also managed interfaces between marketing platforms and CRM systems and ensured data accuracy and quality control. Additionally, they led a team and handled IT server management.

In 2014, Finlay briefly worked as a Technical Specialist at CrowdVu before joining Candidate.ID, an iCIMS company, in 2016. At Candidate.ID, they served as the Data and Insight Lead and played a crucial role in developing a talent lead generation tool. Finlay provided hot lead recommendations to recruiters based on candidates' interactions with online content.

Most recently, in 2022, Finlay joined iCIMS as an Application Monitoring Engineer II, where they are responsible for monitoring and maintaining the company's applications.

Finlay MacFarlane began their education at Stow College from 2009 to 2011, where they pursued a Technical Support HND degree in Computer Science. Following this, they attended the University of the West of Scotland from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained an Honors degree in Business Technology, specializing in Computer Science.

In terms of additional certifications, Finlay achieved the following: in May 2019, they obtained a certification in Data Analysis for Management from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). In the year 2023, they earned multiple certifications, including the New Relic One Programmability Certification, the Full Stack Observability Practitioner Exam, the New Relic Observability Practitioner Badge, and the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from New Relic, Inc. and Amazon Web Services (AWS) respectively.
