Andy McEvoy

Director, Software Engineering, Off-planet Systems at ICON

Andy McEvoy has a strong background in robotics software engineering and mechatronics engineering. Andy currently works as a Robotics Software Engineer at ICON since 2022. Prior to that, they were a Robotics Software Lead at Maxar Technologies from 2020 to 2022. Andy also co-founded PickNik Consulting in 2017, where they worked as a Co-Founder and Roboticist until 2019. Andy gained experience as a Mechatronics Engineer at MDA US Systems LLC from 2016 to 2017. Before that, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2012 to 2016. Andy started their career as an Engineer at US Navy - NAVAIR from 2006 to 2011. Andy also worked as an Assistant Engineer at Texas A&M University, Spacecraft Technology Center from 2003 to 2005 and at Oceaneering from 2000 to 2002.

Andy McEvoy has an extensive education history. Andy completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1999. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Aerospace Engineering at Texas A&M University from 2003 to 2005. Later, Andy attended the University of Colorado Boulder where they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Computer Science from 2012 to 2014. Andy further pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Computer Science, specializing in Robotics, at the University of Colorado Boulder from 2014 to 2016.
