Amon Göppert

Amon Göppert serves as Chief Engineer and Head of the "Sensing & Robotics" department at the Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production Engineering (WZL), overseeing multiple research groups focused on operations management, data science, and robotic automation since October 2016. In addition to this role, Amon leads a research team in model-based assembly automation and collaborates with industry partners across Europe and Asia. Amon also holds positions as IDEA League Fellow, Managing Director at the Center Smart Assembly, and Guest Lecturer in Industrial Engineering at Maastricht University, while contributing as a member of the advisory board at IconPro - A.I. Solutions. Amon's extensive academic background includes a PhD in AI in Production Planning and Control from RWTH Aachen University and dual Master’s degrees in Applied Geophysics from ETH Zürich and Delft University of Technology.
