Amer MELHEM

Amer Melhem serves as the Deputy Head of Unit at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), where they leverage over eighteen years of experience in the humanitarian sector, focusing on security and crisis management. They hold a Ph.D. in Health Care Administration, a Master of Public Health, and a Doctor of Medicine, enabling them to integrate public health expertise into humanitarian action. Amer has previously held roles such as Head of the Disaster Management Division at Qatar Red Crescent and Disaster Management Coordinator for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. They are fluent in English and Arabic and are currently advancing their French while publishing in the field of public health and humanitarian action.
