Gideon David is a Humanitarian Affairs and Protection Specialist with extensive experience in child protection and gender-based violence. They served as Protection and GBV Manager at the Centre for Caring, Empowerment and Peace Initiative in partnership with UNHCR from 2016 to 2017, and as a Child Protection Officer at Excellence & Friends Management Care from 2012 to 2013. Gideon has also worked as FSL Protection and AAP Coordinator at INTERSOS from 2018 to 2019 and as Senior Child Protection Officer at Community Life Advancement Project between 2013 and 2015. Most recently, they held the position of Head of Office at the International Committee of the Red Cross from 2022 to 2024, while also contributing as a Senior Protection Field Officer and Country Humanitarian Affairs Adviser. Gideon is currently pursuing their education at Liverpool John Moores University.
