John Ekelund is currently the Head of Movement Resource Mobilization Partnerships at the International Committee of the Red Cross, a position they have held since 2025. Previously, John served as a Fundraising Programme Development Delegate for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies from 2022 to 2025. They have extensive experience in the nonprofit sector, including roles as Country Coordinator for the Tsunami Operation in Sri Lanka and as a Cruise Manager at Silja Line. John holds a Master of Science degree from the Helsinki School of Economics, where they are currently enrolled.
