Laurent Gisel is currently the Head of the Arms & Conduct of Hostilities Unit at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), a position held since 2020. Previously, Laurent served in various roles within the ICRC from 2008 to 2020, including Legal Adviser and Deputy Head of Delegation. Laurent began their legal career as an attorney in training at Etude Borgeaud & Lellouche from 1996 to 1998 and worked as a legal clerk at the Public and Administrative Law Court in the Canton de Vaud from 1998 to 1999. Laurent holds a Master in International Relations with a focus on International Law from The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva, and a Law Degree from the University of Geneva.
