Umar Ismail is a public health and humanitarian expert who has built a diverse career in the medical field in Nigeria. Beginning as a medical intern at Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital, they progressed to a medical officer before serving as an LGA facilitator for the World Health Organization. Umar then took on roles as a project medical referent and medical activity manager with Médecins Sans Frontières. Currently, they lead the health team for the International Committee of the Red Cross and serve as the CEO and founder of DIAMONDmed Ultramodern Hospital, all while holding a postgraduate degree in infectious diseases from Stellenbosch University.
