Somit Dasgupta

Somit Dasgupta, Ph.D., is a Senior Visiting Fellow at ICRIER and has over 25 years of experience in the power sector, working with notable organizations such as the Ministry of Power and the Central Electricity Authority. Somit has also served as a member of the Board of Directors for BHAVINI and the Nuclear Power Corporation of India. They earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University and hold a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics, among other academic qualifications. Previously, Somit contributed to various governmental and regulatory roles, including as Secretary of the Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission.
