Chris Kanthan

Chris Kanthan is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in cloud computing, software-defined infrastructure, and emerging technologies. Currently serving as a Research Manager at IDC since October 2018, Chris specializes in producing insightful reports and white papers based on in-depth surveys while consulting and designing global surveys. Prior to IDC, Chris was self-employed as an author and writer, producing several books and articles on geopolitics and economics. Chris has also held various technical marketing and engineering roles at EMC, where responsibilities included cloud platform installations, customer presentations, and solution architecture. Notably, Chris co-founded Y-Klub, a Web 2.0 company, and has held multiple systems engineering positions at organizations such as Data General, Sun Microsystems, and Siemens. Chris holds a Master's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester, along with early education at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
