John Gole

John Gole is an experienced professional in the field of telecommunications and the Internet of Things (IoT), currently serving as the European IoT Practice Lead at IDC since November 2000. In this role, John advises industry vendors, policy-makers, and enterprise clients on IoT trends while overseeing the IoT practice and developing new business opportunities. Previous positions at IDC include Research Director roles focused on the IoT market and emerging telecom service provider opportunities, as well as various director and program director positions managing research teams across Europe and beyond. Additionally, John has academic experience as a lecturer at the University of New York in Prague, teaching MBA courses in Strategic Decision-Making Through Marketing Research. John holds dual MBA degrees from Columbia Business School and London Business School, a Master’s degree from Georgetown University, and dual Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland.
