Philip Bues

Philip Bues is a seasoned research manager at IDC, specializing in cloud security and confidential computing since April 2021. Bues leads research initiatives focused on market trends, technology forecasts, and end user adoption in these fields. Prior to IDC, Bues served as Managing Member and Principal at Southern Yankee Creative Group, providing strategic advice to C-level clients from October 2018 to April 2021. Earlier experience includes managing operations at Back Home Productions and overseeing university relations at IBM, where Bues developed strategies to attract talent across North America. Additionally, Bues held various roles in higher education and political offices, including Associate Director at UNC-Chapel Hill and Chief of Staff for Assemblyman Robert Sweeney. Bues earned a B.A. in English from the University at Albany and pursued coursework in High Performance Coaching at North Carolina State University.
