Simon Baker

Simon Baker is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the mobile devices sector and satellite industry. Currently serving as Senior Research Director Mobile Devices at IDC EMEA since January 2004, Simon leads the quarterly mobile tracker and oversees research in the Middle East and Africa, providing comprehensive market insights across 28 geographies. Previously, as Program Director for Mobile Devices at IDC CEMA, Simon directed mobile phone research in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, CIS, and broader regions, specializing in trends within Africa and emerging markets. Earlier roles include Satellite Industry Consultant for various media and satellite companies, Policy Analyst at Eutelsat, and Editor at Cable and Satellite Europe, where Simon contributed significantly to the satellite broadcasting sector. Simon holds an MBA from Henley Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy with Literature from the University of Sussex.
