Thany Dykson

Grants Fullfillment & Administrative Assistant

Thany Dykson currently serves as a Grants Fulfillment & Administrative Assistant at IDEA WILD since October 2025. Previously, Thany completed a Master’s degree in Oceanography at the University of Southampton, working in their Coral Reef Laboratory from September 2024 to September 2025. Prior experience includes roles as an ER and Surgical Veterinary Assistant at the Pet Emergency and Referral Center, a Sea Turtle Nesting Technician at Loggerhead Marinelife Center, and involvement with the UN Environment Programme's CMS Aquatic Species Implementation Support Team. Thany has also worked as an Au Pair and English Teacher through AuPairWorld and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Smith Lab, Colorado State University. Additional experience encompasses various roles at Colorado State University, including Honors Ambassador, Presidential Ambassador, and Meta-analysis Research Assistant for the National Wildlife Research Center. Thany holds a degree in Fish, Wildlife, Conservation Biology, along with minors in Spanish and Global & Environmental Sustainability from Colorado State University, and has participated in programs through the School for International Training.
