Eli Sheets has been working in the legal industry since 2006. Eli began their career as a Patent Examiner for the USPTO. In 2009, they served as an Extern Clerk to the Honorable Judge Ronald Guzman for the U.S. District Court. In 2010, they were a Summer Associate at Arent Fox. The following year, they were an Extern to Hon. Judge Jeffrey Howard for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In 2011, they became an Associate Attorney at Arent Fox. In 2013, they were an Attorney at Schwegman, Lundberg & Woessner, and an Intellectual Property Attorney at Faegre Baker Daniels LLP. From 2015 to 2018, they were a Patent Attorney at Coats + Bennett, PLLC. Since 2018, they have been the Founder and CEO of Ideablock.

Eli Sheets attended Regis High School from 1997 to 2001, where they obtained their High School degree. Eli then attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2001 to 2003, though they did not receive a degree. From 2003 to 2006, they attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where they earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Finally, they attended the University of New Hampshire from 2008 to 2011, where they earned a J.D. in Law.
