Mary Defer

Mary Defer is currently employed as a Development Support Coordinator at Ideastream Public Media, a position held since July 2023. Previously, Mary served as an Administrative Associate at Hawken School from July 2021 to July 2023 and worked as a Legal Assistant at Cohen Rosenthal & Kramer LLP from December 2014 to July 2021, managing docket calendars, monitoring cases, and communicating with clients. Early professional experiences include roles as a Photo Lab Monitor at Kenyon College, an Ohio Magazine Photo Intern at Great Lakes Publishing, a Starbucks Barista at HMSHost, and an intern at the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival. Mary holds a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Kenyon College, earned in 2014, and a High School Diploma from Crestwood High School.
