Michaela Wellems has been working in the professional field since 2013. Michaela began their career at Colburn School as an Advancement Office Intern, Co-Founder of Ad Lib, Campaign Manager and First Violinist, and Program Specialist for Musical Encounters. In 2017, they moved to Houston Symphony as a Section Violin substitute. In 2019, they joined St. Louis Symphony Orchestra as a Section Violin substitute. In 2020, they returned to Colburn School as Program Manager for Sounding Point Academy. In 2022, they joined Phenome Technologies, Inc. as a Project Manager and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab as an Administrative Coordinator for the Assistive Technology Center. Currently, they are employed at Idelic as a Deployment Project Manager.
Michaela Wellems completed a Bachelor's degree in Music at Colburn School from 2013 to 2017. Michaela then went on to obtain a Master's degree in Music from Rice University from 2017 to 2019. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Excel for Beginners: Pivot Tables from Coursera in December 2022, Agile Project Management, Project Initiation: Starting a Successful Project, Project Planning: Putting it All Together, and Foundations of Project Management from Google in November 2022 and August 2022, respectively.
