Julia Schoonenberg

Julia Schoonenberg is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the payment services sector, currently serving as Executive Vice President of Payment Services at IDEMIA since September 2017. Based in Dubai, Julia leads the Financial Institutions business across the Middle East and Africa, managing operations in multiple cities including Johannesburg, Karachi, and Riyadh. Previously, Julia held various senior roles at Oberthur Technologies from June 2002 to December 2016, achieving significant revenue growth and market leadership in the financial services sector, particularly in Russia and South Africa. Julia’s career began at De La Rue, where responsibilities included sales management in Hong Kong and Scandinavia. Julia holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford.
