Steve Ryabinky has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Steve started their career as a Developer at ICF Kaiser in 1995. Since then, they have held various roles such as Senior DBA at CreateHope, Inc., Ventera, CoStar Group, and Team Askin Technologies. Steve then worked as a Solutions Architect/Data Architect at Digital Signal Corporation, where they played a key role in the deployment and support of biometric, surveillance, and fraud products. Steve also served as a Biometric Data Architect at Unisys, supporting the Land Border Integration program for the Department of Homeland Security. Steve then joined NEC Corporation of America as a Senior Solution Architect before moving to IDEMIA as a Principal Solution Architect. At IDEMIA, they support various programs for the DHS, including biometric solutions, digital identity, and mobile driver's license deployments.

Steve Ryabinky attended The Ohio State University from 1992 to 1995, where they studied Computer Information Science. In addition to their degree, they obtained several certifications from Microsoft and IBM, including Exam 70-228: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, and Essentials of the Rational Unified Process from IBM, both in 2003. Steve also obtained certifications from Microsoft in 2003 for Exam 70-098: Implementing and Supporting Microsoft Windows 98, Exam 70-229: Designing and Implementing Databases with Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition, and Exam 70-069: Application Development with Microsoft Access for Windows 95 and the Microsoft Access Developer's Toolkit in 2000.
