Cate Johnson

Cate Johnson serves as the Teaching Lead at IDEO U since January 2022, focusing on enhancing resilience, creativity, and innovation through design thinking and human-centered leadership. As the Founder and Innovation Consultant at ArborRevolutions since January 2019, Cate creatively addresses global challenges using nature, mindfulness, and play. Additional roles include being on the Advisory Board and a Speaker for SXSW since July 2018, as well as serving as a Human-Centered Design Consultant for CrossCountry Consulting from June 2023 to June 2025. Prior experience includes coaching design thinking at the Rural Opportunity Institute, programming management at Alberta Innovates, and various consulting roles. Cate holds an MBA from American University, a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Northeastern University, a certificate in Indigenous Canada from the University of Alberta, and completed a study abroad program in International Development and Global Politics at Bond University.
