Alan Bye

Alan Bye has a long and varied work experience. In 2015, they began as Vice President Technology at BHP. In 2016, they joined the Minerals Resources Flagship Advisory Council at CSIRO and the Research and Industry Advisory Council at METS Ignited Australia Ltd. In 2017, they were appointed Non Executive Director at Scitech. In 2019, Alan was Managing Director at Imvelo Pty Ltd and Professor and Director - Critical Minerals at Curtin University. In 2020, they joined the Mining and Energy Advisory Board at SmartSat CRC. In 2021, they were appointed Non Executive Chair at Orexplore Technologies. Finally, in 2022, they joined Ideon Technologies as Non Executive Director, where they are responsible for transforming subsurface discovery.

Alan Bye completed their PhD in Mining at the University of KwaZulu-Natal between 2000 and 2003. Alan also earned a BSc Hons in engineering geology from the same university in 1996. Additionally, they completed a course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2010. Alan has also attended the University of the Witwatersrand.
