Benoit Gatebuka

Agronomist

Benoit Gatebuka is an experienced agronomist with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the National University of Rwanda, completed in 2008. Demonstrating a strong background in agricultural development, Benoit served as a Farmer-to-Farmer Field Coordinator at One Acre Fund, focusing on training materials for value chains. Subsequent roles included Agricultural Staff at ADENYA asbl, affecting potato seed production, and as Training Coordinator for JICA PiCROPP, where Benoit organized training to enhance crop production in Rwanda's Eastern Province. As an Expert for Horticulture with JICA SMAP, Benoit conducted training sessions to improve cultivation techniques for cooperatives. Presently, as an Agronomist with IDH - The Sustainable Trade Initiative, Benoit provides agronomic support to partners and cooperatives, emphasizing pest management and resource conservation. Additionally, Benoit has contributed as a Senior Agronomist for the JICA NITAT Project, focusing on nutrient-dense crops to improve nutrition through agriculture.
