Andrew Byers is the Chief Executive Officer of IDL. They previously served as Executive Director at IDL from 2015 to 2023, overseeing all commercial, sales and marketing activities in domestic and international markets and developing strategic marketing plans. Earlier in their career they were Chief Winemaker at Littore Family Wines from 2003 to 2007, and also held the role of Commercial Manager there, overseeing commercial, sales and marketing activities, key account management, quality control, and procurement contracts. Vintages Completed (1996-2006) included work with Giesen (NZ), Seresin Estate (NZ), Vidal Estate (NZ), Jacques et Francois (France), Simeon (Australia), Mt Macedon Winery (Australia), and Jindalee Estate (Australia). They earned a Master of Applied Science in Oenology & Viticulture from Lincoln University in 1999, a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology & Genetics from Massey University in 1995, and a High School Diploma from King's College, Auckland in 1991.
