Idle Pines designs gear for climbers, cyclists, backcountry skiers, and the pros who work outside — hardware that disappears into your kit until the moment you need it.

Our first product, Oak, is a hands-free, open-ear, voice-activated communication device built specifically for climbers. No buttons. No fumbling. No breaking focus mid-move. Real climbers — including professional mountain guides — are shaping the design through our early-access program at
idlepines.com.

Idle Pines was founded by Ian Bernstein, a consumer hardware operator who has shipped millions of units across previous products. He started the company after a near-miss on a multi-pitch climb where his belayer couldn't hear him yell "TAKE." Every product we build starts the same way — a specific moment where existing gear failed someone who actually uses it.

Climbers, cyclists, skiers, outdoor pros: join the Oak early list.
