Ben Day is a Principal Software Engineer at Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) and has been an active member of the IEC Technical Committee 57 / Working Group 10 since 2022, focusing on the development of the IEC 61850 suite of standards. Prior to this role, Ben served as a Senior Software Engineer at SEL from 2014 to 2023 and held various software engineering positions at companies such as Decagon Devices, Inc., Advanced Hardware Architectures, and US Software. Ben obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Idaho, graduating in 1994.
