Abhi Chatterjee

Abhi Chatterjee, Ph.D., is a seasoned professional in the energy sector, currently serving in the Energy Division and previously in the Gas and Sustainable Fuels Division at Queensland Treasury and Energy since July 2023. With extensive experience in energy decarbonization, Abhi has held managerial positions at Deloitte and EY, focusing on energy strategies for both government and private stakeholders in Australia. Academic contributions include a lecturer role at the University of Technology Sydney, supporting energy transition projects, and earlier positions as a research fellow at Victoria University of Wellington, where Abhi developed energy auditing toolkits and frameworks for off-grid systems. Abhi's expertise encompasses rural electrification, international collaborations in energy markets, and a Ph.D. in Engineering from Victoria University of Wellington, complemented by a Master's in Smart Grid and Renewable Energy Technologies from IIEST Shibpur. Active in IEEE, Abhi engages in initiatives to enhance electricity access for communities on tribal lands.
