Fouad Karouta

Fouad Karouta is an experienced Semiconductors Technologist with a robust academic and industry background. Notable roles include serving as an Associate Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology from 1986 to March 2009, where significant achievements in GaAs-based VCSELs, GaN-based high power HEMTs, and InP-based photonic circuits were realized. Following this, Karouta was the Manager at the Australian National Fabrication Facility from March 2009 to April 2020, overseeing a state-of-the-art facility for Semiconductors Nano-Technology. Since January 2023, Karouta has been the IEEE Australia Council Chair. Academically, Karouta holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Université des Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc (Montpellier II).
