Gene Freeman

IEEE Vice-chair, Pikes Peak Section; Chair, Computer Society Chapter

Gene Freeman has extensive experience in technology and engineering, holding significant positions in various companies and organizations. Currently serving as IEEE Vice-Chair for the Pikes Peak Section and Chair of the Computer Society Chapter since May 2020, Gene contributes as a volunteer for IEEE. Prior roles include Sr. Manager of Server Memory R&D at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, overseeing all R&D processes for industry-standard servers, and leading a technical team as Sr. Manager of ISS Architecture and Technology. Gene also held a managerial position at Compaq Computer, developing enterprise storage options, and worked as an engineer/product manager at Symbios Logic, focusing on storage and graphics ASICs. Gene's career began at Texas Instruments as an IC layout designer. Gene holds multiple degrees in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Arts from Occidental College.
