Peter Jones

Peter Jones is a distinguished engineer with extensive experience in networking and standards development. Currently, Peter actively participates in various IEEE 802.3 working groups, focusing on standards such as the 100 Mb/s Long-Reach Single Pair Ethernet. Peter has held several significant roles, including distinguished engineer at Cisco, where contributions include launching the Cisco Catalyst 3850 switch and overseeing platform-dependent software for enterprise switching. Additionally, Peter serves as Chairman of the Board for the Ethernet Alliance and previously held leadership positions in the NBASE-T Alliance and at Luminous Networks. Peter’s technical expertise is supported by a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Physics from The University of Western Australia.
