Peter Lewis

Peter Lewis is the Director of the Mindful AI Research Institute and holds the position of Canada Research Chair in Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence at Ontario Tech University, where they also serve as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies in the Faculty of Business and Information Technology. Their research focuses on trustworthy, reflective, and socially intelligent AI systems, supported by extensive commercial experience and a strong academic background. Peter has published over 75 papers and co-edited the book *Self-Aware Computing Systems*, while they have also held roles such as Director of Think Beyond Data and co-founder of Beautiful Canoe. Peter earned a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Natural Computation from the University of Birmingham, following a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Leicester.
