Peter Staecker is a distinguished engineer and leader in the field of electrical engineering, having served as the 2013 IEEE President and CEO. Their early career included a significant role at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they designed microwave devices and developed measurement techniques for satellite communications. With a long-standing commitment to the IEEE Microwave Theory & Techniques Society, Peter has held various leadership positions, including Chapter Chair and Honorary Life Member. They also contributed extensively to the IEEE Technical Activities Board and have served as a consulting editor for Microwave Journal since 1998. Peter earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a PhD from Polytechnic University of Brooklyn.
