Rusty Bascom

Rusty Bascom has extensive experience in the electric power industry, currently serving as Chair of the IEEE PES Insulated Conductors Committee since October 2014, with a history of leadership roles including Past Chair and Vice Chair/Treasurer. As President and Principal Engineer at Electrical Consulting Engineers, P.C., Rusty specializes in underground and submarine power cables. Additionally, Rusty contributes as a Volunteer Alpine Patroller and Outdoor Emergency Care Instructor with the National Ski Patrol, while representing the U.S. on the CIGRÉ Study Committee B1. Previous roles include Principal Engineer at Power Delivery Consultants, Inc. and Analytical Engineer at Power Technologies, Inc. Rusty holds an MBA from the University at Albany and multiple degrees in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
