Tom Creely

Member-at-large IEEE Society Of Social Implications Of Technology Board Of Governors

Tom Creely, PhD, currently serves as a Research Collaborator for the sAIpien Project at the MIT Media Lab since April 2025 and as Chair for the Five Eyes Technical Cooperation Project's Ethical, Legal, Social, and Environmental Action Group since January 2024. As a Creator/Director of the Ethics & Emerging Military Technology Graduate Program at the U.S. Naval War College since September 2014, Tom also participates as a Panel Member for the Special Competitive Studies Project. Additionally, Tom acts as an Ethics Consultant for a DARPA Program Manager since May 2021 and is an Affiliate of the Jahn Research Group at the University of Wisconsin-Madison since March 2020, focusing on biotechnology and national security issues. Tom is a Member-at-Large for the IEEE Society of Social Implications of Technology Board of Governors and previously served as Dep Chair/U.S. Lead for a Technical Project addressing Ethical, Legal, Social, and Environmental Issues for a coalition of countries. Tom has also held a position on the Board of Directors for the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics and was involved with the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum from March 2020 until September 2022.
