Toomas Vaimann is a Research Professor at TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology. They have held the position of President at the Estonian Young Academy of Sciences since 2021 and were a Research Professor at TalTech from 2014 to 2023. Additionally, Toomas served as a Visiting Researcher at Aalto University from 2015 to 2017 and as a Visiting Professor at ITMO University from 2019 to 2022. They currently hold the role of Secretary of the IEEE Estonia section, which they began in 2025. Toomas earned a PhD in Energy and Geotechnology, as well as a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Drives and Power Electronics, all from TalTech.
