Walter Downing

Walter Downing has extensive experience in volunteer leadership roles within IEEE, serving as President of the Systems Council and the Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society, as well as various positions on the Board of Governors and local sections. Downing has also contributed significantly as Vice President of Technical Operations and Government Activities Coordinator in Region 5. In addition to IEEE involvement, Walter Downing has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Southwest Research Institute since April 1979 and serves as a Program Evaluator for ABET since January 2015.
