Ruby Shields

Ruby Shields is an experienced professional in higher education and international student services, currently serving as the Senior Manager of Access & Strategic Partnerships at IES Abroad since September 2022. Prior experience includes roles as Associate Director of Strategic Initiatives at DA Global Access Network, where responsibilities included managing partnerships and developing culturally-relevant educational content, and serving as Program Coordinator at the University of Washington's Study Abroad office, overseeing faculty-led programs. Ruby holds a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Student Affairs and dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Portland, along with a study abroad experience in Spain. Ruby’s expertise encompasses strategic relationship management, diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, and innovative program development for underrepresented students in global education.
