Robert DeLuca

Senior Toxicologist at IES Engineers

Mr. DeLuca has more than 40 years of experience performing toxicological research, studies, and hazard assessments. In the past, Mr. DeLuca was the Global Lead for Occupational Toxicology with Johnson & Johnson for 33 years. In this role, he provided technical expertise and guidance in occupational toxicology, hazard identification, hazard communication, health investigations, and technical regulations (GHS, REACH, green chemistry initiative and NIOSH drug alert) for the Pharmaceutical, Consumer and Medical Diagnostic sectors of J&J in R&D and product development.

As IES’ Lead Senior Toxicologist he is responsible for providing toxicological guidance and leadership and for working with IES Toxicologists to provide to the client's consultation in the safe handling and processing of potent new chemical entities, pharmaceutical compounds, and toxic materials.

Mr. DeLuca is responsible for the management and growth of IES’ Occupational, Environmental Toxicology, and Global Harmonization System (GHS) services portfolio. He holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and Engineering (Toxicology) from Drexel University a BS in Biology from Kutztown University. He is also a member of the Society of Toxicology (SOT) and the Occupational Toxicology Roundtable (OTR).
