Charles Eckel

Charles Eckel is a Principal Engineer at Cisco, with a career spanning over two decades focused on open source and standards in technology. Eckel has played a pivotal role in leading various initiatives at Cisco, including serving as a Developer Advocate in Cisco DevNet and managing the Open Source Dev Center. Key achievements include spearheading innovative technology proof-of-concepts and contributing to video conferencing standards within organizations such as the IETF and IMTC. Eckel co-chairs multiple committees at the MEF Forum, guiding the development of network service standards, and founded the IETF Hackathon, promoting collaboration between open source software and standards.
