Michael Jones

Michael Jones is the Principal at Self-Issued Consulting, LLC, focusing on establishing a digital identity layer through collaboration and standards in identity and security. With extensive experience since October 2010 at the IETF, Michael has contributed as an author and editor of multiple key specs including OAuth 2.0 and JOSE. Active involvement with the OpenID Foundation as a Board Member includes contributing to OpenID Connect specifications. Prior to these roles, Michael served as Standards Architect and Director of Identity Partnerships at Microsoft for over three decades, working on various identity standards. Michael's early career includes positions at the Information Card Foundation, USENIX Association, Digital Equipment Corporation, Carnegie Mellon University, and CompuServe. Michael holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
