Mike Bishop

Mike Bishop is an experienced Internet professional currently serving as the Web & Internet Transport Area Director for the IETF and a Principal Architect at Akamai Technologies. With a strong background in protocol design and architecture, particularly in HTTP, Mike has contributed to various standards development initiatives and is recognized for editorial work on the HTTP/3 specification. They hold a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from Purdue University and have formerly worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft, where they enhanced network diagnostics and client-server communications. Additionally, Mike gained valuable experience as a Teaching/Research Assistant at Purdue University and a Co-Op Student at ADTRAN.
