Michael Layman is the Chief Advocacy Officer at the International Franchise Association, where they continue to develop public policy initiatives and advocate for the franchise industry. Previously, they served as Vice President of Federal Government Relations at the same organization and established the Workplace Policy Institute at Littler Mendelson. With experience in labor and employment policy at the Society for Human Resource Management and as Legislative Director in the U.S. House of Representatives, Michael has built a strong foundation in government relations. They hold an A.B. in Speech Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, as well as a Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Master of Public Administration and Policy from Virginia Tech.
